Today is the TWENTY-THIRD episode of The Daily Decision
—
Today’s episode is for those who are depressed on a short-term or long-term basis which includes the majority of people.
According to the World Health Organization 1 in 4 people will be affected by a mental disorder at some point which include (anxiety disorders, drug abuse, depression, psychosis, cognitive disorders, developmental disorders, personality disorders).
That means you or someone you know will face some form of depression at some point.
But there’s good news …
If you think that you are likely to be affected by negative events, you’re probably wrong.
That is to say, the pessimism bias states that you are more likely to think bad things will happen to you.
It is the cousin of the overconfidence bias.
Your subjective assessment of future events is probably not going to be as good and not as bad as you anticipate so keep your head up and look out for others.
